The short version
- We want everyone to be able to use 13beacons.com, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, zoom, or reduced-motion settings.
- We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
- If something gets in your way, email support@13beacons.com and we will fix it or get you what you need another way.
1. Our goal
13Beacons, LLC aims for 13beacons.com to meet WCAG 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG is published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and explains how to make websites usable for people with a wide range of disabilities, including blindness and low vision, deafness, limited movement, and cognitive and learning disabilities.
2. What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link at the top.
- Text and buttons meet WCAG color contrast minimums.
- Pages use headings and landmarks so screen readers can move around them, and meaningful images have text descriptions. Purely decorative art is hidden from screen readers.
- The animated desert scene on the homepage can be stopped with the Pause animation button. It also stays still if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Pages reflow to a single column on small screens and when zoomed up to 400%, and still work if you increase letter, word, or line spacing.
- Links that open in a new tab say so to screen reader users.
3. How we checked
Our most recent review was on October 22, 2026. It was a self-evaluation: automated testing of every page with axe-core, the open-source accessibility engine many testing tools use, plus manual checks of keyboard navigation, color contrast, zoom and text spacing, and motion. We review the site again whenever we make significant changes.
4. Known limitations
- Decorative animation. The stars, tumbleweeds, and flying saucer on the homepage are decoration only. They carry no information, and a few playful extras, like tapping the saucer, work with a mouse or touch only. Nothing on the site depends on them.
- Other websites. We link to Etsy, the App Store, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We do not control those sites, and their accessibility is up to them.
- Our apps. This statement covers 13beacons.com. For the accessibility features in the Area 13 app, see our Support page.
5. Feedback and help

6. Compatibility
